Meet James D. Stillman, President 

James D. Stillman has been in the retirement services industry for nearly 20 years. Having discovered that seniors face many challenges that could be helped with proper education and planning, his goals are to serve the senior market by presenting information in an easily understood and applied format so they can make wise choices to protect their assets. Jim believes that applied knowledge is power as he strives to educate his clients so they can be prepared to enjoy the golden years in the lifestyle of their choosing.

Jim teaches financial liquidity, *safety of assets, favorable tax status, by-passing probate, protection from nursing home spend-down and how to achieve better than average returns. Jim also specializes in advanced wealth distribution strategies. He is a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC), and member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He and his businesses are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

Jim was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Custer High School and Milwaukee Area Technical College. He has been married to his wife, Judy, for over 30 years, and they have two children, Tyler and Kelly. Jim and his family enjoy boating on the weekends, listening to music while floating around on Lake Norman and enjoying the beauty of North Carolina.

 


Meet Kelly Stillman Sabin, Junior Advisor

Kelly, James’ daughter, has been working alongside her father since 2012 as office manager. She has held her Life & Health Insurance licenses in North Carolina since she started working with her father, and obtained her Medicare Supplement and Long Term Care licenses shortly after. In May of 2014, Kelly passed her Series 65 or Uniform Investment Adviser Law examination, which has allowed her to become registered as an Investment Advisor Representative of JDS Wealth Management Corporation.

Kelly graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles in May of 2011, completing her Bachelors of Science in Fashion Textile Management in just 3 years. Prior to her attendance at NCSU, Kelly was awarded the prestigious Centennial Scholarship, which is only given out to 10 or less incoming College of Textiles freshman each year based on scholarship, merit, and leadership potential. Throughout her time at NCSU, Kelly studied the textile industry including fashion development, textile sciences, supply chain and logistics, and brand management. She was featured in several fashion shows and still has a “passion for fashion”.

Upon graduation, Kelly worked as a visual merchandiser and manager for Gap, Inc before having the opportunity to work with her father. Quickly after beginning her work with her father, Kelly decided that she wanted to make a career out of the opportunity that was presented to her. She is proud of what her father has accomplished during his career and is glad to be able to learn from his experience as one of the top agents in the nation.




Meet Matt Sabin, Office Manager and Client Relationship Director

Matt, Kelly's husband/James' son-in-law, was born and raised in sunny south Florida. As an avid boater and fisherman he feels most at home on the water, but spent his childhood summers exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains at YMCA Camp Greenville. North Carolina quickly grew on him and he knew that someday he would end up residing in this beautiful state. When he's not chasing fish, you can often find Matt in the garage. His love of automobiles started back in High School when he restored a 1970 Mercury Cougar with his Mom and Dad. He currently restores Ford Mustangs in his spare time, focusing on the Foxbody platform. It was his passion for cars that eventually brought him to Race City USA to study Automotive Technology at NASCAR Technical Institute. He excelled in school, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, perfect attendance, and earning several Student of the Course honors.

After graduation, Matt went to work in the automotive field. He started as a Service Advisor for Leith Toyota in Raleigh, and his excellent customer service skills quickly led to a promotion as supervisor of the Express Lube department. The opportunity for Kelly to be a part of the family business brought Matt & Kelly back to Mooresville. As Kelly assumed the role of Office Manager for her father's business, Matt worked at NASCAR Technical Institute as a Financial Aid Advisor assisting incoming students to also pursue their passion. After working for her father for a few years, Kelly decided to take her career to the next level and follow in her father's footsteps as a financial advisor. At that time, Matt stepped in to replace Kelly as Office Manager. Since starting with JDS Wealth Management, he has used his knowledge of computer systems to update software and hardware in the office to help increase productivity. In addition to his role as Office Manager, Matt will be training to become licensed to assist clients with Medicare Supplements and Life Insurance.
